Catalyzing Innovation at Penn State
A strategic unit of the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research, the Office of Entrepreneurship and Commercialization leads Penn State’s entrepreneurship and economic development programs, including management of the University’s startup portfolio, development of programs for Happy Valley LaunchBox and the LaunchBox and Innovation Network, and administration of the Invent Penn State initiative and its entrepreneurship and innovation storytelling.
About
The Office of the Senior Vice President for Research advances, facilitates and manages the full breadth of Penn State’s research activities across the institution. Penn State is ranked among the nation’s top 25 public research universities with nearly a billion dollars in annual research expenditures.

A subset of Penn State’s research has potential for commercialization, and the Office of Entrepreneurship and Commercialization works to develop those discoveries so that they make their way from the lab bench to the marketplace. As part of Penn State’s land grant mission, we also develop and steward economic development programs that support startups and small businesses across Pennsylvania. Our success would not be possible without our University and community collaborators and strategic partners.
